Who we are
What does the name YU' mean?

Yu is a Taoist term meaning to go on a journey with a sense of openness and curiosity. The apostrophe signifies that this journey belongs to you, unfolding within yourself as you connect with your surroundings.

How is YU' different from other offers?

We offer a new way of connecting with Hong Kong by focusing on a deeper understanding behind the knowledge underlying the various cultural expressions and traditions. In other words, we go beyond the surface, to truly understand the source and meaning behind traditions.

We strive to create experiences with respected experts and masters of time-honoured practices. They are individuals who are passionate about their work and are eager to share their knowledge with those who are similarly curious. Their experiences represent various facets of local traditions.

Each Yu’ experience is designed to stand alone, but they are also purposefully interconnected, offering individuals the flexibility to choose a single session that fits into a busy schedule or to progressively deepen their understanding over a longer period of time.

How do I choose where to begin?

We have selected practices that complement each other and express different facets of the values and beliefs underlying traditional Chinese Thought.

Traditional Chinese Medicine, Feng Shui, I Ching, Chinese Astrology and Beyond Tea Ceremony are our initial five experiences in a path of immersion into Hong Kong’s culture. The experiences are categorized in three areas: “Yu’ and yourself “, “Yu’ and your surroundings”, “Yu’ and that which is beyond”. You can begin with any experience depending on your personal interest but we suggest that you try different paths so as to have a more fulsome understanding of Hong Kong.
